Local know-how

TV mounting for every kind of Edmonton home

Edmonton has early 1900s houses near the river valley, huge 1970s and 80s suburbs like Mill Woods and Castle Downs, fast-growing new neighbourhoods on every edge, and concrete towers downtown and in Oliver.

Older central homes

Character houses in Old Strathcona, Garneau, Highlands and Westmount often still have plaster and lath, and some have a brick fireplace. We use plaster anchors (+$10) or masonry anchors for brick (+$80).

1970s to 90s suburbs

Most homes in Mill Woods, Castle Downs, Riverbend and Terwillegar have drywall over wood studs. That is our standard install, from $100 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.

New builds with a fireplace

In Windermere, Chappelle, Summerside and The Hamptons the TV usually goes over a gas fireplace. We check the clearances and suggest a tilting or pull-down mount (+$20 above a fireplace).

Downtown and Oliver condos

Towers downtown, in Oliver and around ICE District have concrete and metal-stud walls. We bring the right anchors (+$50 concrete, +$15 metal studs). Check your condo rules before booking.

What TV mounting includes

Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.

Extras you can add

Choosing a mount

Fixed, tilting or full-motion?

A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look

Hiding the TV wires

We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.

TV mounting in Edmonton: questions

Half of the Edmonton quotes we received in the last 90 days came to between $160 and $275, with a median of $225. Labour starts at $80 for screens up to 31 inches and $100 for 32 to 60 inches. Our mounts add $70, $80 or $125, and wires hidden inside the wall are $99.50. Your exact price shows in the quote form.

For most TVs over 40 inches, yes. We find the studs or the right anchors for plaster, concrete, brick and stone, level the mount, and can hide the wires, so the TV stays up and looks clean. About half of the people who ask us for a quote already own a mount, and we install it for labour only.

A 65-inch TV falls in the 61 to 79 inch group, so labour is $109.99 with your own mount. With our tilting mount it is $189.99, and with wires hidden inside the wall it is $289.49. Add $20 if it goes above a fireplace.

Store prices and what they include change, so check their current price. Ours is on this page: labour from $80, and the quote form shows your exact price before you book. We mount on plaster, concrete, brick and stone, we can hide the wires, and you pay after the job.

Yes. It is one of our most common jobs in newer areas like Windermere and Chappelle. It adds $20. We check the clearance in your fireplace manual, and a tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized) keeps the screen at a comfortable angle.

Yes. Condo walls in these towers are usually concrete or metal studs, so we bring masonry or metal-stud anchors (+$50 for concrete, +$15 for metal studs). Many buildings limit drilling into concrete or shared walls, so ask your property manager first.

Yes. Plaster and lath is common in Old Strathcona, Highlands, Westmount and Garneau. We find the framing first and use plaster anchors so the wall does not crack. Plaster adds $10.

For most rooms, the centre of the screen should be near seated eye level, about 42 inches off the floor. Above a fireplace it sits higher, so a tilting or pull-down mount helps. Our guide on how high to mount a TV has a chart by screen size.

Yes. Through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway on the wall for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable included. In concrete condo walls, in-wall wiring is usually not possible, so a raceway is the tidy option.

Most installs take 45 to 90 minutes. Brick, concrete, wires inside the wall or adding a soundbar can take longer. Mounting two or three TVs in one visit is common, so mention them all when you book.

We work 7 days a week in Edmonton, Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 9am to 7pm. Same-day appointments are available when we have an opening, so call or text (587) 899-7495 to check.
