Local know-how
Peterborough has a big stock of older brick houses downtown and in East City, mid-century homes in the west end, student rentals near Trent and Fleming, and newer subdivisions in the north end. Many houses are over 70 years old.
Homes downtown, in East City, the Avenues and the Old West End often have plaster and lath inside and a brick fireplace. We use plaster anchors (+$10) and masonry anchors on brick (+$80).
Bungalows and back-splits around Westmount, Kawartha Heights and Jackson Park are mostly drywall over wood studs. That is our standard install, from $180 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.
Newer houses in Northcrest and the subdivisions near Chemong Road often have a gas fireplace on the main living wall. Above the fireplace adds $20, and a tile or stone surround adds $50.
Rentals near Trent University and Fleming College are a mix of converted houses and apartment buildings. Some walls are plaster (+$10), some metal studs (+$15). Check with your landlord first.
Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.
Choosing a mount
A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look
We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.
Real TVs mounted by Pixl technicians: above fireplaces, on tile and stone feature walls, in condos and flush Frame TVs.

Three steps, and most TV mounts take 45 to 90 minutes.

Nimona FTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing experience with this installer and couldn’t be happier with the work. He installed three TVs for me, added lighting behind them, set up a sound bar, handled wall concealment, and even helped with mounting wall pictures. Everything looks clean, professional, and perfectly done. What really stood out was his patience and commitment. One of my TVs arrived cracked, and he had to wait over a month until I replaced it. Despite that, he came back without any issues and completed the job just as promised. Truly outstanding service from start to finish. I would definitely give 5 stars—honestly, even more if it were possible. Highly recommend! B D.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Labour for mounting a TV in Peterborough starts at $159.99 for screens up to 31 inches, $179.99 for 32 to 60 inches and $199.99 for 61 to 79 inches, before tax. Our mounts add $70, $80 or $125. A 55-inch TV with a tilting mount and wires inside the wall is about $359.49.
For most TVs over 40 inches, yes. We find the studs or the right anchors for plaster, concrete, brick and stone, level the mount, and can hide the wires, so the TV stays up and looks clean. About half of the people who ask us for a quote already own a mount, and we install it for labour only.
A 65-inch TV falls in the 61 to 79 inch group, so labour is $199.99 with your own mount. With our tilting mount it is $279.99, and with wires hidden inside the wall it is $379.49. Add $20 if it goes above a fireplace.
Store prices and what they include change, so check their current price. Ours is on this page: labour from $160, and the quote form shows your exact price before you book. We mount on plaster, concrete, brick and stone, we can hide the wires, and you pay after the job.
Yes. Brick fireplaces are common in older Peterborough homes, and newer ones often have gas. Above a fireplace adds $20. We check the clearance first, and a tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized) brings the screen to a comfortable angle.
Yes. Apartment and converted-house walls can be drywall, plaster or metal studs, and we bring anchors for all three. Most leases need the landlord’s permission before drilling, so ask them first. A slim fixed mount is often the simplest choice for renters.
Yes. Plaster and lath is normal in East City, the Avenues and downtown. We locate the framing, drill carefully so the plaster does not crack, and use anchors made for it. Plaster adds $10. On a brick wall or chimney we drill the brick, not the mortar, for $80 more.
As a rule of thumb, the centre of the screen should be at seated eye level, about 42 inches from the floor in most rooms. Over a fireplace it sits higher, so a tilting mount helps. Our guide on how high to mount a TV has heights by screen size.
Yes. Through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway on the wall for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable included. In old plaster walls we check the cavity for blocking before we promise in-wall.
We work 7 days a week in Peterborough, Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 9am to 7pm. Same-day appointments are possible when we have an opening, so call or text (587) 899-7495 to check.
Yes. We also mount TVs in Lakefield, Bridgenorth, Millbrook, Norwood and Ennismore, and at cottages around the Kawarthas, with the same prices. Give us your address when you book and we will confirm the day.
