Local know-how
Saint John has some of the oldest housing in Canada. Uptown and the South End are full of 1800s brick and wood buildings, the North End and West Side have older wood-frame homes, and Millidgeville and the East Side have newer houses.
Many Uptown and South End buildings went up after the 1877 fire, with brick walls and plaster inside. Exposed brick adds $80 and plaster adds $10. We check what is behind the wall first.
Houses along Douglas Avenue, in the North End and on the West Side in Carleton and Lancaster are often over 80 years old with plaster and lath. We find the framing and use plaster anchors (+$10).
Bungalows and split-levels on the East Side and around Champlain Heights are mostly drywall over wood studs. That is our standard install, from $220 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.
Newer homes in Millidgeville near the Kennebecasis often have a fireplace feature wall facing the water. We mount above it (+$20), and stone or tile surrounds add $50.
Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.
Choosing a mount
A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look
We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.
Real TVs mounted by Pixl technicians: above fireplaces, on tile and stone feature walls, in condos and flush Frame TVs.

Three steps, and most TV mounts take 45 to 90 minutes.

Nimona FTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing experience with this installer and couldn’t be happier with the work. He installed three TVs for me, added lighting behind them, set up a sound bar, handled wall concealment, and even helped with mounting wall pictures. Everything looks clean, professional, and perfectly done. What really stood out was his patience and commitment. One of my TVs arrived cracked, and he had to wait over a month until I replaced it. Despite that, he came back without any issues and completed the job just as promised. Truly outstanding service from start to finish. I would definitely give 5 stars—honestly, even more if it were possible. Highly recommend! B D.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Labour for mounting a TV in Saint John starts at $159.99 for screens up to 31 inches, $219.99 for 32 to 60 inches and $229.99 for 61 to 79 inches, before tax. Our mounts add $70, $80 or $125. A 55-inch TV with a tilting mount and wires inside the wall is about $399.49.
For most TVs over 40 inches, yes. We find the studs or the right anchors for plaster, concrete, brick and stone, level the mount, and can hide the wires, so the TV stays up and looks clean. About half of the people who ask us for a quote already own a mount, and we install it for labour only.
A 65-inch TV falls in the 61 to 79 inch group, so labour is $229.99 with your own mount. With our tilting mount it is $309.99, and with wires hidden inside the wall it is $409.49. Add $20 if it goes above a fireplace.
Store prices and what they include change, so check their current price. Ours is on this page: labour from $160, and the quote form shows your exact price before you book. We mount on plaster, concrete, brick and stone, we can hide the wires, and you pay after the job.
Yes, that adds $20. Older homes often have a brick fireplace (+$80 for brick), while newer ones in Millidgeville or the East Side may have a gas insert. We check the clearance in your fireplace manual, and a tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized) helps with viewing angle.
Yes. Uptown condos can be in converted brick buildings or newer concrete ones. Brick adds $80, concrete $50, and metal studs $15. Most buildings have rules about drilling, so check with your condo board or landlord before you book.
No. Plaster and lath is normal in the South End, the North End and on the West Side. We locate the framing before drilling and use anchors made for plaster so the wall does not crack. Plaster adds $10.
For most rooms, put the centre of the screen near eye level when you sit, about 42 inches from the floor. Older homes with tall ceilings tempt people to go higher, so a tilting mount helps. Our guide on how high to mount a TV has a size chart.
Yes. Through an existing channel for $25, a paintable raceway on the wall for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable included. Brick and some plaster walls are better suited to the raceway.
Most TVs take 45 to 90 minutes. Brick and plaster walls, in-wall wiring and soundbars can add time, and we let you know before we start if yours will run longer.
