Local know-how
Charlottetown has a lot of older wood houses downtown and in Brighton, mid-century homes in Sherwood and Parkdale, and newer subdivisions on the edges of the city. Most apartments are low-rise buildings rather than towers.
Many homes downtown and in Brighton date back more than a century and still have plaster and lath. We find the framing before drilling and use plaster anchors so the wall does not crack (+$10).
Bungalows and two-storeys in Sherwood, Parkdale and Hillsborough Park are mostly drywall over wood studs. That is our standard job, from $120 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.
Newer houses in East Royalty, West Royalty and Winsloe often have a propane or electric fireplace in the living room. Mounting above it adds $20, and a tilting mount keeps the angle comfortable.
Rentals near UPEI, Spring Park and downtown are mostly wood-frame with drywall. Some newer buildings use metal studs (+$15), and the odd concrete wall adds $50. Get your landlord's okay first.
Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.
Choosing a mount
A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look
We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.
