Local know-how

TV mounting for every kind of Campbell River home

Most of Campbell River is wood-frame houses: 1960s and 1970s homes in the central neighbourhoods, newer builds in Willow Point and the south end, and a few waterfront condo buildings. Plenty of homes also have a wood stove or rock fireplace.

Established central homes

Houses in Campbellton and around downtown are mostly 1960s to 1980s builds with drywall over wood studs. That is our standard install, from $490 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.

Rock and stone fireplaces

Lots of homes in Willow Point and Ocean Grove have a stone or rock fireplace as the focal wall. Stone takes masonry anchors (+$50), and mounting above the fireplace adds $20.

Newer homes near the water

Newer houses in Willow Point, Ocean Grove and along the south end use drywall over wood framing, often with a gas fireplace. We mount above it (+$20) and can run the wires inside the wall.

Quinsam Heights and acreages

Family homes in Quinsam Heights and rural properties out along the Quinsam River vary a lot by age. We confirm the wall type when you book: drywall from $490, plaster +$10, stone or tile +$50.

What TV mounting includes

Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.

Choosing a mount

Fixed, tilting or full-motion?

A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look

Hiding the TV wires

We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.

TV mounting in Campbell River: questions

Labour for mounting a TV in Campbell River starts at $449.99 for screens up to 31 inches, $489.99 for 32 to 60 inches and $509.99 for 61 to 79 inches, before tax. Our mounts add $70, $80 or $125. A 55-inch TV with a tilting mount and wires inside the wall is about $669.49.

For most TVs over 40 inches, yes. We find the studs or the right anchors for plaster, concrete, brick and stone, level the mount, and can hide the wires, so the TV stays up and looks clean. About half of the people who ask us for a quote already own a mount, and we install it for labour only.

A 65-inch TV falls in the 61 to 79 inch group, so labour is $509.99 with your own mount. With our tilting mount it is $589.99, and with wires hidden inside the wall it is $689.49. Add $20 if it goes above a fireplace.

Store prices and what they include change, so check their current price. Ours is on this page: labour from $450, and the quote form shows your exact price before you book. We mount on plaster, concrete, brick and stone, we can hide the wires, and you pay after the job.

Above a fireplace, yes, it adds $20. We check the clearance in your fireplace manual first, because heat matters. Above a freestanding wood stove we usually advise against it, since the heat and soot can damage the TV. A tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized) helps with viewing angle.

Yes. Most Campbell River townhouses and low-rise condos are wood-framed, so they are standard drywall jobs. Concrete walls in the larger waterfront buildings take masonry anchors (+$50). Check your strata rules about drilling before you book.

Yes. Rock and stone fireplace walls are common here. We drill into the solid stone or the mortar as needed and use masonry anchors. Stone or tile adds $50 and brick adds $80. These jobs take a bit longer, so plan on up to 90 minutes or so.

A good starting point is the centre of the screen near eye level when you sit, about 42 inches up in most living rooms. Higher placements, like above a fireplace, work better with a tilting mount. See our guide on how high to mount a TV for a size chart.

Yes. Through an existing channel is $25, a paintable raceway on the wall is $60, and fully inside the wall is $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable included. In-wall works on most drywall, but not through a stone fireplace.

Usually 45 to 90 minutes for one TV. Stone fireplaces, in-wall wiring and soundbars add time. If you have more than one TV, let us know so we plan the visit properly.

Yes, 7 days a week: Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 9am to 7pm. We offer same-day appointments in Campbell River when we have an opening, so call or text (587) 899-7495.

You pay after the job is done, by credit card, debit, e-transfer or cash. We are licensed and insured with $5 million general liability coverage, and you can add optional extra coverage on the installation for 1, 2 or 3 years.
