Local know-how

TV mounting for every kind of Grande Prairie home

Grande Prairie is mostly wood-frame houses, from 1960s and 70s homes in the central neighbourhoods to big new builds on the north, west and east sides. Basement suites and townhouses are common, but there are no real condo towers.

Established central homes

Houses in Avondale, Highland Park, Montrose and Hillside are mostly 1960s to 80s drywall over wood studs. Drywall is from $100, and an older brick fireplace adds $80 if the TV goes on it.

Newer homes with a fireplace

In Royal Oaks, Westpointe, Signature Falls and Cobblestone, the great room is often built around a gas fireplace with a stone or tile surround. Above the fireplace adds $20, and stone or tile adds $50.

Basement suites and rec rooms

Lots of homes in Countryside South, Arbour Hills and Crystal Landing have a developed basement or a suite. Finished walls are drywall at the standard price, and bare concrete foundation walls add $50.

Townhouses and duplexes

Townhomes and side-by-sides around Northridge, Mission Heights and Pinnacle Ridge are wood frame with drywall. Shared walls can be thick and layered, so we find the studs carefully. Standard installs start at $100.

What TV mounting includes

Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.

Choosing a mount

Fixed, tilting or full-motion?

A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look

Hiding the TV wires

We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.

TV mounting in Grande Prairie: questions

Labour for mounting a TV in Grande Prairie starts at $79.99 for screens up to 31 inches, $99.99 for 32 to 60 inches and $109.99 for 61 to 79 inches, before tax. Our mounts add $70, $80 or $125. A 55-inch TV with a tilting mount and wires inside the wall is about $279.49.

For most TVs over 40 inches, yes. We find the studs or the right anchors for plaster, concrete, brick and stone, level the mount, and can hide the wires, so the TV stays up and looks clean. About half of the people who ask us for a quote already own a mount, and we install it for labour only.

A 65-inch TV falls in the 61 to 79 inch group, so labour is $109.99 with your own mount. With our tilting mount it is $189.99, and with wires hidden inside the wall it is $289.49. Add $20 if it goes above a fireplace.

Store prices and what they include change, so check their current price. Ours is on this page: labour from $80, and the quote form shows your exact price before you book. We mount on plaster, concrete, brick and stone, we can hide the wires, and you pay after the job.

Yes. Most newer homes in Royal Oaks, Westpointe and Signature Falls have a gas fireplace on the main wall. Above a fireplace adds $20. We check your fireplace clearance, and a tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized) keeps the screen at a comfortable height.

Yes. Finished basement walls are usually drywall over wood studs, so it is our standard price. If the TV goes on a bare concrete foundation wall, that adds $50. If you rent the suite, check with your landlord before we drill.

Yes. Brick fireplaces are common in Avondale, Highland Park and Montrose homes. We drill into the brick, not the mortar joints, and use masonry anchors sized for the TV. Brick adds $80, and stone or tile adds $50.

In most living rooms, the centre of the screen should sit about at eye level when you are seated, roughly 42 inches off the floor. Over a fireplace it will be higher, so tilting helps. See our guide on how high to mount a TV for heights by screen size.

Yes, three ways. Through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway on the wall for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50, which includes a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Exterior walls with insulation sometimes need the raceway option instead.

Yes. We book 7 days a week in Grande Prairie, Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 9am to 7pm. Same-day appointments are possible when we have an opening, so call or text (587) 899-7495 to check.

Yes. Along with Grande Prairie we serve Clairmont, Sexsmith, Wembley, Beaverlodge and acreages in the County of Grande Prairie at the same prices. Give us your address when you book so we can plan the trip.

You pay after the job by credit or debit card, e-transfer or cash. Our technicians are licensed and carry $5 million in general liability insurance, and you can add optional extra coverage on the installation for 1, 2 or 3 years.
