Greater Victoria has a lot of pre-1950 houses in Fernwood, Fairfield, James Bay and Oak Bay, mid-century homes in Saanich, new subdivisions on the Westshore and a growing number of condo towers downtown.
Fernwood, Fairfield, James Bay and Oak Bay have many houses from the early 1900s with plaster and lath walls and brick fireplaces. We use plaster anchors (+$10) and masonry anchors for brick (+$80).
Gordon Head, Royal Oak and much of Esquimalt have 1950s to 80s homes with drywall over wood studs, many with a suite downstairs. Standard installs start at $190 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.
Newer homes in Langford, Westhills and Royal Bay in Colwood are usually built around a gas fireplace. We check the clearances and suggest a tilting or pull-down mount (+$20 above a fireplace).
Towers downtown, in Harris Green and around the Inner Harbour have concrete and metal-stud walls. We bring masonry or metal-stud anchors (+$50 concrete, +$15 metal studs) and follow strata rules.
Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.
Choosing a mount
A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look
We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.

Yes. Most Westshore new builds have a gas fireplace on the TV wall, and it adds $20. We check the clearances in the manual and suggest a tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized). Older brick fireplaces in Fairfield or Oak Bay add $80 for masonry anchors.
Yes. Towers downtown and in Harris Green usually have concrete walls with metal-stud partitions, so we bring masonry anchors (+$50) or metal-stud anchors (+$15). Most stratas have drilling rules, so check with your building manager before booking.
Yes. Plaster and lath is common in Fernwood, Fairfield, James Bay and Oak Bay. We find the framing first and use anchors made for plaster so it does not crack. Plaster adds $10, and mounting on a brick fireplace adds $80.
