Local know-how
Chilliwack mixes older houses near downtown and on Fairfield Island with lots of newer family homes, townhouses and wood-frame condos in Sardis, Vedder and up the hillsides. Most walls are drywall over wood studs, but fireplaces and suites change the job.
Some older houses around downtown, Five Corners and Fairfield Island go back to before 1950 and can still have plaster walls. We find the framing first and use plaster anchors so nothing cracks (+$10).
Newer homes on Promontory, the Eastern Hillsides and around Ryder Lake often have a gas fireplace with a stone or tile surround. Above a fireplace adds $20, and drilling stone or tile adds $50.
Townhouse and low-rise condo complexes in Sardis, Vedder and Garrison Crossing are mostly wood-framed with drywall, so it is our standard install from $180 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches. Check your strata rules first, as some limit drilling on shared walls.
Many houses in Sardis, Little Mountain and Chilliwack proper have a basement suite. Framed suite walls are regular drywall pricing from $180 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches. If the TV goes on bare concrete, masonry anchors add $50.
Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.
Choosing a mount
A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.
