Local know-how

TV mounting for every kind of Delta home

Delta is really three towns. North Delta is mostly 1960s to 1980s houses, Ladner has an old village core with newer subdivisions around it, and Tsawwassen mixes 1970s homes with new builds and condos. Each has its own walls.

North Delta family homes

Split-levels and ranchers in Sunshine Hills, Annieville, Nordel and Scottsdale are wood-framed with drywall. Many have a brick fireplace, which adds $80 for brick, plus $20 above the fireplace.

Ladner village

Some of the older houses near Ladner village date back before 1950 and can have plaster walls (+$10). Newer streets in Hawthorne and around Ladner are standard drywall, from $180 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.

Tsawwassen and Boundary Bay

In English Bluff, Beach Grove and Pebble Hill you see 1970s homes next to big new rebuilds. Newer homes usually have a gas fireplace wall with tile or stone (+$50, and +$20 above the fireplace).

Condos and new towers

Low-rise condos in Ladner and Tsawwassen are usually wood-framed. Towers along Scott Road have concrete and metal studs (+$50 concrete, +$15 metal studs). Check your strata rules first.

What TV mounting includes

Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.

Choosing a mount

Fixed, tilting or full-motion?

A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look

Hiding the TV wires

We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.

TV mounting in Delta: questions

Labour for mounting a TV in Delta starts at $129.99 for screens up to 31 inches, $178.99 for 32 to 60 inches and $199.99 for 61 to 79 inches, before tax. Our mounts add $70, $80 or $125. A 55-inch TV with a tilting mount and wires inside the wall is about $358.49.

For most TVs over 40 inches, yes. We find the studs or the right anchors for plaster, concrete, brick and stone, level the mount, and can hide the wires, so the TV stays up and looks clean. About half of the people who ask us for a quote already own a mount, and we install it for labour only.

A 65-inch TV falls in the 61 to 79 inch group, so labour is $199.99 with your own mount. With our tilting mount it is $279.99, and with wires hidden inside the wall it is $379.49. Add $20 if it goes above a fireplace.

Store prices and what they include change, so check their current price. Ours is on this page: labour from $130, and the quote form shows your exact price before you book. We mount on plaster, concrete, brick and stone, we can hide the wires, and you pay after the job.

Yes, for $20 extra. In North Delta that is often a brick fireplace (+$80 for brick). In newer Tsawwassen homes it is usually a gas insert with a tile or stone surround (+$50). We check the manual’s clearance, and a tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized) keeps your neck comfortable.

Yes. Wood-frame condos in Ladner and Tsawwassen are standard drywall jobs. Concrete walls in high-rises along Scott Road need masonry anchors (+$50), and metal studs add $15. Most stratas have drilling rules, so check with your property manager before you book.

Not usually. Some houses near Ladner village are old enough to have plaster and lath. We find the framing first and use plaster anchors so nothing cracks. Plaster adds $10. Most Delta homes built after the 1960s are plain drywall over wood studs.

Put the centre of the screen at about seated eye level, usually around 42 inches from the floor. Over a fireplace it ends up higher, so a tilting mount helps. Our guide on how high to mount a TV has measurements by screen size.

Yes. Using an existing channel costs $25, a paintable raceway on the wall is $60, and running the cables inside the wall is $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable included.

Most installs take 45 to 90 minutes. Tile, stone or concrete walls, in-wall wiring and soundbars can stretch that a little. If you have several TVs, tell us when you book so we plan enough time.

We work 7 days a week, Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 9am to 7pm. Same-day appointments in Delta are possible when we have an opening. Call or text (587) 899-7495.

Pay after the job by credit or debit card, e-transfer or cash. Our technicians are licensed and carry $5 million general liability insurance. You can also add optional extra coverage on your installation for 1, 2 or 3 years.
