Hamilton’s lower city is full of brick houses from the early 1900s, the Mountain is mostly post-war and 1970s suburbs, and new subdivisions keep growing in Binbrook, Waterdown and Stoney Creek. Downtown adds condo towers and factory lofts.
Kirkendall, Durand, Crown Point and Westdale have many pre-1950 homes with plaster and lath inside and exposed brick here and there. We use plaster anchors (+$10) or masonry anchors for brick (+$80).
On the Mountain, areas like Rolston, Westcliffe and Templemead have post-war bungalows and 1970s to 80s homes with drywall over wood studs. That's our standard install, from $120 for TVs from 32 to 60 inches.
Binbrook, Waterdown and upper Stoney Creek have plenty of 2000s and newer homes built around a gas fireplace. We check the clearances in your fireplace manual and pick the right mount (+$20 above a fireplace).
Towers downtown and near the waterfront have concrete and metal-stud walls, and converted lofts often have brick. We bring the right anchors (+$50 concrete, +$15 metal studs, +$80 brick) and follow building rules.
Every job covers the same essentials: we find the studs or anchor into masonry, level the mount at the height you choose, hang the TV, check that it is secure and clean up. You choose the extras.
Choosing a mount
A fixed mount ($70) keeps the TV flat on the wall at eye level. A tilting mount ($80) angles the screen down, which helps above a fireplace. A full-motion mount ($125) swings and extends for corners and open-concept rooms. You can also use a mount you already have.

Clean look
We hide TV wires three ways: through an existing channel for $25, in a paintable raceway for $60, or inside the wall for $99.50 with a fire-resistant HDMI cable. Power cords should not run loose inside a wall, so in-wall jobs use rated cables and hardware.

Yes. Newer homes there are often built around a gas fireplace, and it adds $20. We check the clearance in your fireplace manual, then suggest a tilting mount ($80) or a pull-down mantel mount ($70, or $110 motorized). An older brick fireplace in the lower city adds $80 for masonry anchors.
Yes. Condo towers usually have concrete or metal-stud walls (+$50 for concrete, +$15 for metal studs), and loft conversions often have brick (+$80). Many buildings have rules about drilling into concrete or shared walls, so check with your property manager before booking.
No. Plaster and lath is very common in Hamilton’s older neighbourhoods, from Kirkendall to Crown Point. We find the framing behind the plaster first and use anchors made for it so the wall does not crack. Plaster adds $10, and exposed brick adds $80.
