Smart home installation with Pixl Canada starts at $89 for a WiFi camera, $99 for a battery video doorbell and $129 for a smart thermostat, before tax. A wired video doorbell is $149 and home WiFi or mesh setup starts at $129. Prices are for installation and app setup with your device; if your thermostat needs a C-wire power adapter, that adds $50.

Most smart thermostats, including Ecobee and many Nest models, need a C-wire (common wire) for steady power. Many older Canadian furnaces only have 2 to 4 thermostat wires and no C-wire. When that happens, we install the power adapter that comes with the thermostat or run a new wire, then connect the thermostat to your WiFi and set up the schedule in the app. Send a photo of the wires behind your current thermostat and we tell you what your install needs.
A wired video doorbell uses your existing doorbell wiring, so it never needs charging and records more reliably. A battery doorbell can go anywhere, including condos and doors with no doorbell wire, but it needs recharging every few months, and Canadian winters shorten battery life. Smart devices only work as well as your WiFi. Doorbells, outdoor cameras and garage devices are often at the edge of your signal. We check the signal where each device goes, place the router or a mesh system where it covers the whole home, and connect your TV, streaming box and smart devices. If you also want security cameras or TV mounting, we can do it on the same visit.
