Security Camera Installation for Warehouses and Industrial Units

Pixl installs security cameras and CCTV systems for warehouses, workshops, distribution units and industrial yards. We plan the views around loading docks, entrances, aisles and the perimeter, handle long cable runs and high mounting, send a written quote after a walkthrough, and you pay after the job.

CCTV

Which camera system suits a warehouse or industrial unit?

Wired PoE (CCTV) IP cameras recording to an NVR are the usual choice, because a large building has dead spots for WiFi and needs steady recording. One network cable carries power and video, but a single run is limited to about 100 metres (328 feet), so a big warehouse needs a PoE switch near the far cameras. Dock doors and yards often need two kinds of view: a wide camera for the overview and a second camera for faces or plates.

Wired CCTV (DVR/NVR)

More stable, and ideal for long-term use or larger properties.

WiFi cameras

Easier to install, and good for smaller spaces or rentals.

Security camera installation cost

How much does warehouse security camera installation cost?

A warehouse camera system is quoted after a walkthrough, because the price depends on the number of positions, the cable distances, the mounting height and the recorder. A small workshop and a multi-bay distribution unit are very different jobs, so we do not publish a package price. The quote is free and in writing, and you pay after the job.

WiFi camera installation

From $200 for 1 or 2 cameras, before tax. A good fit for condos, rentals and smaller homes.

Wired CCTV system (NVR/DVR)

Free custom quote. We price it for your property once we know the layout, the cable routes and the walls.

What changes the price of a business camera system:

  • Number of positions: docks, doors, aisles, yard, gate and shipping desk
  • Cable distances, and where PoE switches are needed to stay within the 100-metre limit
  • Mounting height and lift or ladder access, including after-hours work
  • Lighting at the docks and gate, which can decide the camera model
  • Recorder and storage for the number of days you want to keep, across all cameras

Use our Business security camera quote checklist to compare quotes, and our Cloud storage vs local NVR guide to weigh recording options.

Canadian dollars, before tax. Equipment is listed separately in your quote.

What a warehouse camera install includes

We mount each camera, run and protect the cable, power the cameras through PoE switches, set up the recorder and storage, and connect remote viewing so managers can check the site from a phone. We can supply the equipment or install cameras you already own.

Before we leave, we check every view in daylight and at night, when dock lighting changes, and walk you through playback and export. We work with Hikvision, Reolink, Dahua, Lorex and TP-Link Tapo.

Camera layouts by site type

The positions depend on how goods and vehicles move through the site. These are the layouts we plan most often.

Distribution and logistics units

Dock doors, shipping desk, aisles and the yard, with a second camera at the gate for plates.

Workshops and manufacturing

Entrances, tool and stock rooms, and the loading door, with housings that cope with dust.

Self-storage and yard storage

Gate, lanes and perimeter, with night coverage and a plate view at the entrance.

Wholesale and cash-and-carry

Entrance, tills, high-value stock and the loading door.

Shared industrial units

Check the landlord’s rules and keep views on your own unit and frontage.

Where each warehouse camera goes

Walk the site the way goods and vehicles move, from the gate to the dock to the stock, and mark each point on a plan. Start with where losses and disputes happen, not with how many cameras fit the budget. Keep cameras out of washrooms, change rooms and similar areas, post a clear sign and tell staff in writing.

Gate and yard

Vehicles and fence lines, with a second camera for plates at night.

Trucks, pallets and who handles them.

Entrances and exits

Aisles and stock areas

How a business camera install works

A warehouse install takes three steps: a walkthrough of the site, a written quote, and an install with a handover. You pay only after the system works.

1

Book a walkthrough

Call, text or use the form. We walk the site from the gate to the docks and mark each camera view and cable route.

2

Get a written quote

You get a written quote listing cameras, switches, recorder, storage, access equipment and tax, free and with no commitment.

3

We install and hand over

We install, test every view by day and at night, and show you playback. You pay after it works.

Warehouse security camera installation: questions

It depends on the number of cameras, the cable routes, the recorder and storage, and how the building is built, so every business system is quoted after a walkthrough. The quote is free and in writing, and you pay after the job. One or two WiFi cameras in a small space start at $200, before tax.

A single network cable run is limited to about 100 metres (328 feet). For longer distances we place a PoE switch closer to the cameras and connect it back to the recorder, so every camera stays within the limit.

Reading a plate at night is a different requirement from a general overview. It usually needs a dedicated camera aimed at the lane, good lighting and the right speed and angle. We plan it separately during the walkthrough.

High mounting may need lift or ladder access, and after-hours work can change the quote. We list both in the written quote after the walkthrough.

It depends on the building, not on a fixed number. We mark docks, doors, aisles, the yard and the gate on a plan during the walkthrough and quote only what you need.

Yes. We set up remote viewing on your phone, tablet or computer, test live view and playback with you, and show you how to review footage before we leave.

You pay after the job is done, by card, e-transfer or cash. The written quote comes first, so there are no surprises.
